Did Alex Bruesewitz Have a Stroke? Concerns Rise After Trump Advisor’s Fainting Spell

Alex Bruesewitz, a prominent advisor to former President Donald Trump, was hospitalized after collapsing on stage at a New York Young Republican Club gala on Sunday night, sparking concerns about his health and questions about whether he suffered a stroke. The 27-year-old political strategist, known for his energetic presence and staunch support of the MAGA movement, reportedly experienced a second fainting spell after being admitted to a New York hospital, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Bruesewitz was in the midst of delivering a speech at the Cipriani Wall Street event, praising the New York Young Republicans and acknowledging notable attendees, when he began to slur his speech and falter. “I’m forgetting my words,” he managed to say before falling forward over the lectern. The sudden nature of the collapse and subsequent hospitalization has led many to inquire about the possibility of a serious medical event, including a stroke.

While details about Bruesewitz’s condition remain limited, his lawyer, Joseph D. McBride, stated on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday morning that Bruesewitz was still hospitalized and undergoing tests. “He is still admitted to a hospital in New York where he has undergone a series of tests. Please keep this young fighter in your thoughts and prayers,” McBride wrote, stopping short of providing specific details about the nature of the tests or ruling out any particular condition like a stroke.

Initial reactions following the incident attempted to downplay the severity. Raheem Kassam, speaking on stage after Bruesewitz, relayed a message from Bruesewitz himself, joking, “Did I at least look cool?” Similarly, Human Events editor Jack Posobiec, who claimed to have spoken to Bruesewitz backstage, suggested it was a “brief fainting spell” possibly caused by “dehydration + locked legs,” further stating that “all levels are normal.”

However, the fact that Bruesewitz remains hospitalized and has reportedly suffered another fainting spell raises questions beyond simple dehydration. Fainting, especially when followed by a second episode, can be indicative of various underlying medical issues, and in some cases, can be associated with neurological events like a stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA), often referred to as a “mini-stroke.” While there is no official confirmation or indication that Bruesewitz suffered a stroke, the lack of clarity surrounding his condition and the repeated fainting spells naturally lead to such speculation.

Bruesewitz is the CEO of X Strategies LLC, a political consulting firm focused on “America First conservatism.” He has been a vocal advocate for the MAGA movement and has worked as a political strategist, including for Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign. His public profile and active role in conservative politics have amplified the attention surrounding his health incident.

As of Monday, Alex Bruesewitz remained in the hospital, undergoing further medical evaluation. While initial reports suggested a minor fainting spell, the subsequent hospitalization and lack of definitive explanation have fueled concerns and prompted questions about more serious underlying conditions, including whether the young Trump advisor experienced a stroke. Further updates on his condition are awaited as he undergoes tests and medical observation in New York.
