How to Link Pandora to Alexa: A Step-by-Step Guide

Linking your Pandora account to your Alexa device can be frustrating. Many users encounter issues during the setup process. This guide provides a proven four-step solution that successfully connects Pandora to Alexa.

First, ensure your Pandora app is updated on the device with the Alexa app. Outdated versions can cause compatibility problems, hindering the linking process. Check your app store for available Pandora updates and install them before proceeding.

Second, log into your Pandora account and navigate to Profile and then Settings. Within the Settings menu, locate the Alexa option and select it to link your Pandora account. Importantly, set Pandora as the default music service. This allows you to simply say, “Alexa, Play [station name] Radio,” without specifying “Pandora.”

Third, return to the Alexa app and disable the Pandora Skill. After disabling, re-enable the skill to initiate a fresh connection. Alexa should confirm the successful link to your Pandora account. However, if you still encounter issues playing Pandora on command, proceed to the fourth step.

Fourth, if you’re an Amazon Prime member with access to Amazon Music Prime, ensure you’re logged into the primary account associated with your Alexa devices. Secondary family accounts may interfere with proper linking. To verify, ask, “Alexa, who’s account am I logged into?” If necessary, switch to the primary account using the command, “Alexa, switch accounts.” This should resolve any remaining conflicts and allow Pandora to function correctly. You’ll know you’re in the correct account when the commercials and offers for Amazon Music Unlimited disappear.
